From Puerto Natales

Torres del Paine day tours from Puerto Natales

The icons in a single day — here are the main guided day options and what each delivers.

Puerto Natales is the base

Almost all Torres del Paine day tours run from Puerto Natales, the gateway town a couple of hours from the park. Basing there lets you take a guided day trip into the park and return the same evening, with the park pass and transport handled for you.

The full-day scenic tour

The classic option is a full-day guided tour that loops the park's most famous viewpoints — the Cuernos and the massif, lakes like Pehoé and Nordenskjöld, waterfalls and wildlife such as guanacos — with short walks at each stop. It's the best single-day overview if you want breadth over a big hike.

The Base of the Towers day hike

For hikers short on time, a one-day guided hike to the Base of the Towers delivers the park's marquee view — the three granite towers above a glacial lake — as an out-and-back. It's a long, demanding day with a steep final climb, but it captures the single most iconic scene without needing hut bookings.

Grey Glacier by boat

A boat trip on Lago Grey takes you among floating icebergs to the face of Grey Glacier, which flows off the Southern Patagonian Ice Field. It's a very different, water-level perspective on the park and pairs well with a scenic day tour on a two-day Puerto Natales stay.

Choosing between them

If you want the widest set of views, take the full-day scenic tour; if you want the iconic towers and don't mind a hard walk, take the Base of the Towers hike; if you want the glacier and icebergs, take the Grey boat. Many visitors combine two over a couple of days rather than choosing just one.
